Currently, why do things happen the way they do?
Is it because we’ve allowed it? Or because we’ve not allowed it?
Or because we simply have been indifferent and just let anything happen at will. Sort of like the “wind blow[ing] where it listeth”?
I think the third option is the most likely. I am sure many of us wouldn’t allow it because we want it, and we certainly haven’t NOT allowed it because it already IS.

Something Learned

Reading the news these days has become quite a chore! A person really has to surf through and be picky about the source of the news they get. In regard to that, I am always learning and reading and trying to improve the way of life for me and my family, and something came to the forefront of my memory just recently when reading through some of the news regarding the current events. (i.e. townhall meetings some politicians are having)

I remember learning in the business realm a phrase that has stuck with me good and hard. I have come to see why… It applies to so many areas of life. One might say it’s a Universal Truth…

“The Fear of Loss is a Much Greater Motivator Than the Hope of Gain.”

Such a simple phrase…

Here is a short clip from the article I came across that prompted me to ponder once again on this. It is from the “PatriotPost” and comes from an article written by Peggy Noonan:

“What has been most unsettling is not the congressmen’s surprise [at the passions of the protesters] but a hard new tone that emerged this week. The leftosphere and the liberal commentariat charged that the town hall meetings weren’t authentic, the crowds were ginned up by insurance companies, lobbyists and the Republican National Committee. But you can’t get people to leave their homes and go to a meeting with a congressman (of all people) unless they are engaged to the point of passion. I agree with many and I say… “The American Patriot won’t tolerate for long such a confiscation of liberty by political persons and tyrants of free will.”

Today’s Thoughts

I have a quote I came across that I thought was great to share:

It seems many of our leaders/politicians could use to really comprehend this idea better! I have been doing some reading and research on this country’s founding, being inspired by the Independence Day holiday recently, and I must say that our government today and the condition of our country is not what was thought of back in 1776 and around that time.

So many thoughts…

Looking at the two time eras and comparing, I must say a very important point to understand is the issue of morality. I’m talking about the moral that was present back in the 1700′s and the different moral that is present today! Understand that the moral is the ground work for a proper view of the role of government. Today’s morality of people is evident by the thinking that we need the government to help us live our life. We need more government because times have changed and we, as America, need the government to provide ALL of our needs. (more than what the constitution gives them control over… i.e. military, roads and methods of transportation, etc)

To change the political view and governmental role back from what it is becoming, we must be able to influence the morality of the American people. How?….

GET INVOLVED!! With what?… Everything! Have a voice with regard to politics. Have a voice with regard to Christianity! Be bold! And I’m talking to myself here too. I was listening recently about the issue of the “emerging church” (Dr. Cloud has great information on the subject) and one of the ideas behind that is that “old style Christian’s” culture needs to adapt. Some argue that the fundamentalists are trying to separate from the “American culture”! If that were true, I think all fundamentalists would still ride horses to and from places and still use candlelight! I don’t see that. We are still part of American culture and I know for one I use electricity, and cars, and fastfood (not very often), and other modern “American cultural” ways of life.

I think its important again to make the clarification about this cultural issue. I believe we need to understand its not about being a part of “American Culture”. It’s knowing there are two very different culture’s at war here. There is the original American culture, (where beliefs about country and government role are grounded in a solid belief in God and the Bible, just as our founding father’s believed and so incorporated that belief in the beginning of our separate and equal country), and then there is sin culture, where anything goes and we need more government and more programs to make things “fair” and we deserve all this. I could go on.

This emerging church issue can tie in nicely to this “bigger government” issue that *shh* PROGRESSIVES *shh* are trying to implement. I can think of someone right off the bat that is in government that is pushing all these ideas of “progress” through our government system right now. There is much more that can be said, but I’ve said my share for the day. (one BIG thought for the day!)

The Post Turtle

A doctor struck up a conversation with a hard-working 75 year
old rancher while suturing a mean cut on the old man’s leathery hand. Eventually the topic got around to Obama.

The old rancher said, “Well, you know, Obama is a ‘post turtle’.”

Unfamiliar with the term, the doctor asked him what he meant.

The old rancher replied, “When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘post turtle.’”

The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor’s face so he continued: “You know he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, and he doesn’t know what to do while he’s up there, and you just wonder what kind of complete moron put him up there to begin with.”

This is what my “media” shows me!

I think this might be of interest to some out there. It’s ashame that the average media wouldn’t report much on this or show what was going on, but somehow they have the ability to take days at a time and report on trivial stuff that most could care less about!
